Kids Id Kit
Kids Id Kit is a free app from Missing Children Minnesota. It keeps the information police ask for first — a current photo, height and weight, birth date, identifying marks — in one place on your phone, so you are not hunting for it during the worst hour of your life.
Everything you enter stays on your device behind a PIN. The app also carries the same safety guidance this website does, and you can read that part without signing in.

The app is free, with no advertising and nothing to buy. It runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 15 or later, and on Android phones and tablets.
WHAT IT KEEPS
- A record for each child: name, date of birth, and a current photograph you can replace as they grow
- Physical description — the details a description gets built from
- Everything held on your own phone, unlocked with a PIN
- Safety information and resource links, readable without signing in
- An exported ID document you can email to authorities or print
WHY IT MATTERS
When a child is missing, the first hour is spent answering questions: what was she wearing, how tall is he, when was this photograph taken. Parents who have that information ready give police a description to act on immediately. A paper ID kit does the same job — this one is simply always in your pocket, and the photo in it is current.
Keeping the record up to date is the whole point. Set a reminder to replace each child’s photograph every six months, and after any change in height, weight, or hair.
YOUR INFORMATION STAYS YOURS
Missing Children Minnesota does not collect what you enter, and does not share it with anyone. There is no account to create and no sign-in. The record lives on your phone, behind a PIN you choose, and it goes no further.
A KIT, NOT A SUBSTITUTE
The app does not contact anyone for you. If your child is missing, call your local police first and then call us — the app holds what you will be asked for, it does not make the report.
